Debate
The Department of Materials Engineering / University of Technology, in cooperation with the Baghdad Women’s Association and the Baghdad Debating Club, held a debate entitled (University uniform is indispensable).
That was on Wednesday, 30/6/ 2021 at eleven in the morning in the discussion room in the Civil Engineering Department. The debate was held in the presence of the Head of the Materials Engineering Department, Assist. Prof. Dr. Hussein Alaa Jaber and the scientific assistant Lec. Dr. Muhannad Najah. Where the side of the debate opinion was represented by the teaching staff in the Department of Materials Engineering Assist. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Osama Abbas, as for the opposition side, it was represented by the Fourth Stage student, Sarah Jalil Khaseef, Department of Materials Engineering/Branch of Polymeric and Petrochemical Materials.
The side that supports the view that the university uniform cannot be dispensed with has shown that wearing the university uniform has advantages, including: decent appearance, a sense of university affiliation, respect for self and others, achieving equality among students in terms of appearance, and maintaining the sanctity of the campus. Among the disadvantages of not wearing the university uniform: the university environment turns into a theater for fashion shows, embarrassment of students who are not well off, preoccupation with students’ ideas of showing off through acquisition and diversity in models, and the students’ thinking is dispersed, and finally in terms of security, it is difficult for security to identify strangers if the university uniform is not worn.
As for the side opposing wearing the university uniform, the student showed that a person does not determine his value and identity as a specific piece of clothing in a certain color, and that changing colors for the student makes him happy and improves his psychology and thus attends lectures while he has a thought that is ready and receptive to various information, and finally that the diversity of clothes makes the student open to others no matter what are their religions or sects.
At the end of the debate, the Head of the Materials Engineering Department, Assist. Prof. Dr. Hussein Alaa Jaber distributes certificates of appreciation to each of Miss Batoul Hussein Ali (Project Manager of Mahalla 21 / Baghdad Women's Association), Mr. Muhammad Abdul Rahim Ahmed ( Director of Baghdad Debating Club), Assist. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Osama and the student Sarah Jalil.

Debate
The Department of Material Engineering/University of Technology, in cooperation with the Baghdad Women's Association and the Baghdad Debating Club, held a debate entitled:
"The e-learning system must continue even after the in-person education returns to normal" on Tuesday, 15/6/2021 at 11am, in the discussion room of the Department of Control Engineering. The debate held in the presence of the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Haider Abed Dahd, and the head of the Materials Engineering Department, Prof. Dr. Hussein Alaa Jaber, and the head of the Department of Control and Systems Engineering, Prof.Dr. Azad Rahim Gabr.
The debate included the side in favor of the idea of continuing the e-learning system and its teaching represented by the Department of Materials Engineering, Prof. Aseel Bassem Al-Zubaidi. The opposing side was represented by the student Hamza Faydallah Muhammad Ali, Department of Materials Engineering, Branch of Polymeric and Petrochemical Materials, Fourth Stage.
The side in favor of the continuation of the e-learning system stated that this system opened new horizons for both the teacher and student and broke the psychological barrier of the student. This could increase the university’s absorptive capacity because there is no need for classrooms. It also provides opportunities for the students to repeat the lecture any time as needed.
For the opposed side of the continuation of the e-learning system, it showed that the weakness of the e-learning infrastructure increases the confusion between the student and the teacher, and it lacks the positive interaction between the teacher and the student. In addition, the electronic exams increased the chances of cheating for students, which may waste the right of distinguished students.
At the end of the debate, certificates of appreciation were distributed to Ms. Batoul Hussein Ali, Baghdad Women's Association, and to Mr. Muhammad Abdul Rahim Ahmed, Director of the Baghdad Debating Club, and to professor Aseel Bassem and student Hamza Faydallah.

The thesis was scientifically evaluated by Assist. Prof. Dr. Ayad Mourad Takhakh/ Al-Nahrain University/ College of Engineering, and linguistically by Assist. Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdel Hadi Jaber/ University of Technology / Office of Vice chancellor for scientific and postgraduate affairs.
The discussion of the thesis was conducted in a scientific atmosphere and a PhD degree with grade of pass was awarded to the student after the completion of all the corrections that have been decided by the examiners.
Abstract:
The magnetization of bulk MgO shows diamagnetism behavior while MgO-NPs shows a unique type of magnetization named room temperature ferromagnetic (RTFM) or "d0" ferromagnetism". This magnetization was obtained by doping MgO-NPs with different concentration of Pb+2 and Sc+3 ions to obtain (Mg(1-x)PbxO)-NPs, (0≤x≤0.03), and (Mg0.97Pb(0.03-y)ScyO)-NPs, (0≤y≤0.03), respectively. All samples have been prepared by modified Pechini method.
The undoped and doped samples have been analyzed by VSM, XRD, FTIR, Raman spectroscopy and FESEM-EDS.
The result of experimental work show that the maximum saturation magnetism (Ms) was for 1.5 % Pb (Mg0.985Pb0.015O) sample for (Mg(1-x)PbxO)-NPs samples group and 3% Sc (Mg0.97Sc0.03O) sample for (Mg0.97Pb(0.03-y)ScyO)-NPS samples group.
