Ms. Wafaa Mahdi Saleh, from the Department of Materials Engineering / University of Technology, received a scientific promotion from the rank of assistant professor to professor, due to her fulfilling all the requirements for scientific promotion, while enjoying all the rights and privileges conferred on him by this rank, according to the university order No. GS/413 dated 10/2021. /4.

The discussion took place in the Graduate Studies Hall in Building B in the department on Wednesday 10/6/2021, and the discussion committee consisted of Messrs.

3. Lect.Dr. Naseer Abdul-Hussein is a member
4. Prof.D. Farhad Muhammad Othman  as A supervisor

As well as evaluating the thesis scientifically by Prof. Dr. Mohsen Abbas Aswad/ University of Babylon/ College of Materials Engineering and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Jawad Kazim/Al-Mustansiriya University/College of Engineering/Department of Materials Engineering, and linguistically by Prof. Dr. Zainab Nayef Rashid/ University of Technology/ Department of Applied Sciences.

After the discussion committee Noted Thier observations on the thesis, which were divided between explanation and correction and the student’s defense of her message and the discussion ended, the committee decided to evaluate the thesis, and decided to grant the student a master’s degree with a Pass grade.

The Department of Materials Engineering / University of Technology started the second round exams in attendance on Sunday 12/9/2021 and in the presence and supervision of the head of the department, Dr. Hussein Alaa Jaber, and his scientific assistant Dr.  Muhannad Najah, and the administrative assistant Dr. Laith Waddah. The precautionary measures have been applied, including social distancing, wearing a mask, and checking the temperature.

The Department of Materials Engineering at the University of Technology conducted several laboratory tests for different samples for many state departments and private sectors, as part of the cooperation agreement with these institutions.

The Engineering Department examined a soil sample from the Directorate of Technical Equipment / the Popular Mobilization Authority, examined the (HDPE) models of the Department of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works, tested a leakage for Ibn Rushd State Company / Mayoralty of Baghdad, and took samples for Barakat Dijla General Contracting Company Ltd. Also, the Department of Materials Engineering pressed models for the Oil Research and Development Center / Ministry of Oil.
