Participation in a PhD defense

Prof. Dr. Aseel Basem Abdel Hussein, Department of Materials Engineering / University of Technology, participated in the discussion of the PhD student (Tabarek Abdul Abbas Fayyad). The title of the thesis is ( Study of the electronic and vibrational properties of chalcogenide wurtzoids molecules and nanostructure via Density Functional theory).

Abstract
Gaussian 09 software program with ab-initio density functional theory and generalized gradient approximation (GGA) of the level B3LYP with 6-311G basis set (for Zn and S atoms) and SDD basis states (for Cd atoms) are used to calculate the electronic and spectroscopic properties of II-VI group of ZnS, CdS and Zn1-xCdxS at molecular scale (molecule and cyclohexane), and nano-scale included (wurtziod,wurtziod2c and triwurtziod) capped bandle (3,0) nanotube
 
The discussion of the thesis was conducted in a scientific atmosphere and a PhD degree with grade of pass was awarded to the student after the completion of all the corrections that have been decided by the examiners.
